Robert K. Haley, JD, CFP®, AIF®

Chairman & CEO

Bob is the founder, Chairman, and CEO of Advanced Wealth Management. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and is also an Accredited Investment Fiduciary® certificant . He is an Investment Adviser Representative of both Commonwealth Financial Network (member FINRA/SIPC) and Advanced Wealth Management.  He is also a licensed insurance consultant with the State of Oregon.

Bob grew up in the Portland area and is a US Army veteran. He graduated from the University of Washington but is loyal to the Oregon schools.  He earned his law degree but after two years discovered he enjoyed law school more than the practice of law.  He entered the financial services industry in 1982, and in 1989 founded the firm that has become Advanced Wealth Management.  In 1999 he affiliated with Commonwealth Financial Network.  He found that his legal background provided excellent training for estate planning, retirement planning, and advanced planning matters.

Bob is and has been a member of several professional organizations.  A lover of the arts, he is currently serving on the Board of Directors of the Portland Opera Association, and has served on other boards in the past, such as the Portland Opera Guild and the Beaverton Education Foundation.  He has given speeches throughout the country and has been quoted in many magazine and newspaper articles.

He enjoys gathering, splitting, stacking and burning firewood in the two fireplaces on his property.  In addition every year he raises a colorful garden of flowers and vegetables.  As often as his schedule permits, his favorite activity is to be in the mountains, photographing dramatic landscapes, rock formations and waterfalls.

Theodore Haley, CFP®, AIF®

President

Ted is passionate about helping our clients achieve their goals, both financial and otherwise.  He started here full time in 2008, just in time to help our clients navigate the stock market crash of '08-'09, the related financial crisis, and the so called "Great Recession."  Having that experience early on in his career has been invaluable in allowing him to guide the people we work with through the ever changing and uncertain financial world.

A native Oregonian, Ted grew up in the Portland area and studied at the University of Oregon, where he helped lead the Ducks racquetball team to two top-10 finishes in the U.S. National Collegiate Championships.  He graduated from the University of Oregon magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, and later went on to earn an Executive Certificate in Financial Planning from the Pamplin School of Business at the University of Portland.

After college and before starting with Advanced Wealth Management full time, Ted lived in Spain, where he had received a grant from the Spanish government to teach English in a school in a small town in Andalucía. This experience as an educator living abroad gives him a unique world view, and his interest in teaching translates into an drive to educate our clients about what options might be best for them, and why.

Advancing the financial planning profession as a whole is very important to Ted, and for several years he served on the Board of Directors of the Financial Planning Association of Oregon and Southwest Washington; he was elected to serve terms as both president and chair of the board.  Ted has also served as a Subject Matter Expert for the CFP® Board of Standards, working with an elite group of other CFP® professionals to write test questions and improve the CFP® exam. He is a member of the Estate Planning Council of Portland.

Ted has been named as one of Top 500 Millennial Advisors by Forbes magazine in the inaugural “America’s Top Next Generation Wealth Advisors”** list. He is also a multiyear winner of the Five Star Wealth ManagerSM award*.  He has been quoted in several national news and industry media, including U.S. News & World Report and CNBC.

Giving back has always been a core value of his, and he is active in several local non-profit groups and associations.  For him personally, outdoor experiences and adventures have been integral in shaping his worldview, and with that in mind he serves of the Board of Directors of Camp Ukandu, an organization whose mission is to bring joy and hope to children living with cancer and their families through "outrageously fun" outdoor camp experiences.

Outside of the office, Ted loves to explore the wilderness of the Pacific Northwest with his wife Lindsey, son Sebastian, and dog Kona.  He and his family also love to travel, and are avid soccer fans.

**The 2017 ranking of Forbes' Top 500 Millennials (1) recognizes advisors born in 1980 or later with a minimum of four years of experience. The advisor was rated based on a proprietary algorithm of qualitative and quantitative criteria: assets under management, revenues generated for their firms, client retention, industry experience, credentials, and compliance records. Shook Research also employs an opinion-based weighting system that prioritizes its preferred "best practices," which include business models, activities, processes, and structure. 2,356 advisers were considered and 500 (21 percent of advisors) were recognized. For the full methodology (2) that Forbes developed in partnership with SHOOK Research, please visit here

Linda Heintz

Vice President of Operations

Linda is our vice president of operations. A native Oregonian, Linda grew up in the Forest Grove area on a family farm and joined Advanced Wealth Management in October 2004 when her youngest child entered college. She became the head of our operations team in 2008, and our systems have run extremely efficiently ever since. She is a long-time member of the Financial Planning Association.

During the years of raising her three children, Linda was an active volunteer with the Beaverton School District, aiding teachers in the classroom, assisting in the school offices, helping with fundraisers and as the Volunteer Coordinator for the elementary school. Linda also volunteered as a religious education pre-school teacher during those years at her church. Prior to this, she worked in the medical field doing medical coding for nine osteopathic physicians.  All of this experience made her eminently prepared to manage our operations department.

Linda enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, hiking and ballroom dancing.  One of her greatest joys are their three grandchildren.
